The IRTG 2235 is a joint research program established by the Faculty of Mathematics at Bielefeld University, Germany, and the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Seoul National University, South Korea. In a truly international and competitive environment, doctoral students study singular and random systems.

BiGSEM was established in 2001 by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Bielefeld University in close cooperation with the Center for Mathematical Economics (IMW) as one of the first German programmes offering a structured doctoral programme in Economics. Early in the program students are involved in research activities and encouraged to interact with the international research community.

EPOC unifies many different experts in various fields of research, 7 leading European universities, 10 non-academic partners and 15 doctoral fellows. Renowned scientists and experts from outside of academia come together to train EPOC doctoral fellows, to work with them on the challenging objectives of the program.

CUDE is a Research Training Group located at Bielefeld University and funded by the DFG. It consists of ten principal investigators and welcomed its first cohort of doctoral researchers in October 2023. The RTG’s innovation is to explore a new subfield in economic theory that merges two features central to current and future economies: uncertainty and dynamics.
