Summer School 2015

We would like to thank all participants – be it as speakers, commentators, or attendees – for their contributions that helped turning the Summer School into such a productive and enjoyable event. The cooperation and joint effort of Italian, Greek and German professors, postdocs, PhD-students and MA-students in discussing the subject matter of “political participation” has certainly reinforced our belief in this sort of course format.
We would particularly express our gratitude to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD – Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) that generously enabled the international scholars to come to Bielefeld University by providing them with grants for that occasion. Also, we owe special thanks to Prof. Dr. Uwe Walter and Prof. Dr. Ulrich Meier for contributing the scholarly expertise in their respective research areas to the content-related procedures of the Summer School. For organizational matters, Jonas Kleinhaus and Giuseppe Lorentini provided all international guests with assistance and advice.
In addition to that, we felt honored that Italian Ambassador S.E. Pietro Benassi and the Italian Member of the Parliament Laura Garavini delivered lectures as part of the Summer School.
