Prospects for Early-Career Researchers

The RTG offers young researchers with a background in sociology, economics, social anthropology, or related social sciences the opportunity to take part in an innovative research programme. The RTG includes an international guest programme and works at the forefront of interdisciplinary labour market research with a global outlook, and a top-level, research-oriented qualification, preparing them for outstanding academic and non-academic careers.

The RTG offers the opportunity to conduct a research project and complete a doctoral dissertation within an international and interdisciplinary intellectual environment. Ten renowned researchers from Bielefeld University and the University of Duisburg-Essen and one from Osnabrueck University with expertise in RTG relevant fields will act as PhD supervisors and mentors to RTG early-career researchers.

Doctoral researchers will be offered 75% researcher positions (TV-L E13) for a 4-years period of time. RTG members will be provided with financial support for conference travels and research stays abroad, and for organizing their own workshops.

The RTG welcomes applications from early-career researchers of all genders and offers a broad variety of equal opportunity and support measures for those with care obligations.
