Admission procedure

Applicants who get financial support from elsewhere can apply at any time preconditioned BiGSEM faculty member agreed to supervise the applicant.
Hence, if you are interested in joining BiGSEM, please check the list of faculty members working in the areas of your interest directly.

Once you have an agreement of a BiGSEM faculty member to become your supervisor, please follow the instructions below for the application process.

An applicant applies for one of the four profiles economics, finance, management or data science.

To be submitted in two pdfs only…

In first pdf included:

• BiGSEM application form (incl. motivation letter)

In second pdf included:

• CV
• Transcripts from previous studies
• Declaration of intent of a potential supervisor
• Master degree or/and envisaged date of completion.

The two pdfs are sent to bigsem-coordination@uni-bielefeld.de. An admission committee reviews the applications of prospective candidates and decides on their admission. An acceptance in the programme is declared for the winter term.
Being accepted as BiGSEM candidate does not automatically imply financial support from BiGSEM or other university sources.
