Working Group Experimental Pragmatics

The Experimental Semantics and Pragmatics group focuses on interpretation of meaning and uses experimental methods from psycholinguistics to investigate how complex meaning emerges in real time in language processing. We study incremental meaning construction from the sentence level to the discourse level.

We conduct experiments on a regular basis. Read more on our laboratory page.

Currently

The Experimental Pragmatics group has taken up project work in two CRC projects in the CRC 1646 Linguistic Creativity in Communication: Project B01 investigates coercion as a creative mechanism in compositional interporetation and in the public relations project Ö we are working on citizen science in linguistic research. The CRC has been funded by the DFG since April 2024.
