  • August 2023
    Auszeichnung:Uni-Bielefeld-CIAS-Filmproduktionen-Go-Global! Beim internationalen Filmfestival Culture Unplugged wurden zwei von Willy Raussert und Alina Muñoz Knudsen produzierte Dokumentarfilme in das Programm aufgenommen: In Her Own Words: Nuyorican Poet and Activist and Sonic Bridges: Son Jarocho in South-North Dialogue. Screening dates: 24/09/23; 12/10/23; 31/10/23---01/10/23; 15/10/23; 27/10/23.
  • Sept. 2022: Opening of Bielefeld Contact Office at Universidad de Guadalajara. The office is located at CALAS Guadalajara and was inaugurated September 23, 2022 in the presence of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Rectories of Bielefeld and Guadalajara university. The establishment of the Bielefeld contact office represents another milestone in the strategic collaboration between Bielefeld University and Universidad de Guadalajara and an important step toward the future institutionalization of CALAS in both universities. Thus the studies of the Americas will continue to be central points of research and investigation for both universities.
  • May 2022: 2nd album by 'Willy' Raussert: Walking down Memory Lane appeared in .
  • The BMBF sponsored documentary film In Her Own Words: Nuyorican Poet and Activist, created and directed by Alina Muñoz and Wilfried Raussert will be screened as official part of the program of the Harlem International Film Festival May 5-15, 2022, New York.

  • Wilfried Raussert’s and Afua Cooper’s new multi-media research project “Reggae and Dub Culture in Canada” will be funded by the Canadian federal government in the context of the government sponsored program A Black People’s History of Canada from 2022 until December 2024.  A Black People’s History of Canada is equipped with an overall budget of $1.000.000 CAD.

  • On 13th Nov. 2021 Prof. Raussert was re-elected Director of the International Association of Inter-American Studies (IAS) at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas (USA) until 2024.

  • May 2021, "This is a work of uncommon brilliance" (Jury). Black Matters by Afua Cooper and Wilfried Raussert (2020) wins the J.M. Abraham Atlantic Poetry Award 2021.
