The open-source architecture RISE (A Robotics Integration and Scenario-Management Extensible-Architecture) is a tool for researchers who want to develop human-robot interaction scenarios (HRI). RISE makes it possible to initially connect to the Nao and Pepper robots and can be extended to integrate your own robots with customised actions (e.g. the Floka agent)!

The software is being developed as part of the Transregional Collaborative Research Centres (SFB) "Constructing Explainability" (TRR 318) and is used both in internal projects and in cooperation with partners. The main focus of the system is to support work in interdisciplinary teams and to enable non-computer scientists to create, discuss and understand the behaviour of robots in HRI.
