General Information: Strasbourg is often referred to as the "capital of Europe" because it is home to the headquarters of numerous international organizations and institutions, including the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, and the European Court of Human Rights, among others. The University of Strasbourg originally emerged from a grammar school, and in 1621 it was recognized as a full university. Today, it is home to over 55,000 students and comprises 36 departments and faculties, as well as 79 academic and research institutions. With about 20% international students and 150 different nationalities, the study climate is very international. The university includes the second oldest botanical garden in France, which covers more than four hectares.
Study programs and specializations: A bachelor's program and three master's programs in psychology are offered: 1. a general master's with three concentrations: clinical cognitive neuropsychology, clinical developmental and learning psychology, and clinical psychology in behavioral and cognitive therapy; 2. a master's in psychoanalytic clinical psychopathology; and 3. a master's in social, industrial, and organizational psychology.
Study schedule: the winter semester begins at the beginning of September and continues until the end of January. The summer semester runs from the end of January to the beginning of June.
